Chris Lofing Co-Founder, Writer | Director | Producer

Born and raised in small town Beatrice, Nebraska, Chris Lofing’s filmmaking aspirations began when he was 13, creating home movies, skits and even two feature length films during high school. After attending The New York Film Academy in Los Angeles, Chris moved to Fresno where he met his creative collaborator, Travis Cluff. Travis’ unique marketing and business background combined with Chris’ film and technical experience, made the duo the perfect team and led them to form Tremendum Pictures in 2011. They started by working out of their apartment where they spent every waking hour creating content. The pair independently co-wrote, co-directed and co-produced the micro-budget horror film, THE GALLOWS, which cost only $100,000. The film attracted low budget horror titan, Jason Blum of Blumhouse and Entertainment 360 as producers before being acquired by New Line Cinema/Warner Bros. - becoming New Line’s first acquisition in 8 years. THE GALLOWS was released in theaters worldwide on July 10th 2015 and grossed over $42million at the box-office. The sequel, THE GALLOWS ACT II, was released by LIONSGATE in 2019. Tremendum’s latest thriller HELD, wowed audiences and critics when it opened Fright Fest in 2020. The film released through Magnolia/Magnet Releasing in April 2021.

After losing his job due to the recession and with his first kid on the way, Travis had the unfortunate luck of also falling victim to a Ponzi scheme. In debt and desperate for money to support his new family, Travis came across ABC’s obstacle course game show WIPEOUT which promised a $50,000 grand prize to the winner. In 2008, not only did Travis make it onto the show, but he won his episode. This accomplishment helped him get back on track and also opened his eyes to the entertainment business and the idea that anything is possible. After meeting New York Film Academy student, Chris Lofing, the two developed a friendship and started their own production company, Tremendum Pictures, in 2011.
